Product Description
The ultra-purification column is a key component in an ultra-pure water machine used for further purifying water, and its working principle mainly involves the following aspects:
Ion exchange: The ultra-purification column is filled with ion exchange resin. There are exchangeable ionic groups on these resins. When water containing various ions passes through the purification column, the cations in the water (such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, etc.) will exchange with the hydrogen ions (H⁺) on the resin, and the anions (such as chloride ions, sulfate ions, carbonate ions, etc.) will exchange with the hydroxide ions (OH⁻) on the resin. Through this ion exchange process, most of the anions and cations in the water are removed, thereby reducing the electrical conductivity of the water and improving the purity of the water.
Adsorption effect: In addition to the ion exchange resin, the ultra-purification column may also contain some substances with adsorption capacity, such as activated carbon. Activated carbon has a huge specific surface area and can adsorb impurities such as organic matter, pigments, and residual chlorine in the water. Organic molecules will be adsorbed on the surface and pores of the activated carbon, and the residual chlorine will react chemically with the activated carbon and be removed, further improving the quality of the water.
Filtration and interception: The ultra-purification column usually also has a certain physical filtration function. In the structural design or filling material of the column, there are some parts with smaller pore sizes, which can intercept tiny particles, colloids and other impurities in the water. These impurities cannot pass through the pores of the column and are thus retained in the column, preventing them from entering the purified water and ensuring the purity of the ultra-pure water.
